Mike Hall has been a member of the State Legislature for several years. He was first elected to the House of Delegates in 1994. He served 6 terms in the House and then was elected to the Senate in 2006. Mike is currently the Minority Leader in the State Senate. When Mike was in the House of Delegates he served as the Minority Chair of the House Finance Committee as well being the Minority Whip for two terms.

As a member of the West Virginia Legislature, Mike has served on several committees that have dealt with pension and investment issues. These committee assignments combined with Mike’s private sector experience in the world if finance have significantly prepared Mike to serve the people of the State of West Virginia as the State Treasurer. In the House of Delegates, he was on the Committees on Banking and Insurance, Education, Roads and Transportation, Pensions and Retirement, Finance, Government and Finance, Rules, and the Legislative Oversight Committee on Health and Human Resources.

In the State Senate, he has been on Committees on Education, Military, Pensions, Banking and Insurance, Judiciary, Economic Development, Rules, Council on Finance and Administration, Committee on Government and Finance, the Select Committee on Other Post-Employment Benefits and the Finance Committees.

Another role in conjunction with his membership in the West Virginia Legislature is he currently is the National Chairman of the Life Insurance and Financial Planning Committee for the National Conference of Insurance Legislators (NCOIL.)

Mike has been a financial advisor for several years, and a dedicated public servant for 18 years. Mike maintains active securities and insurance licenses.
